Bhaad-gaaule Topi ( भाद्गाउँले टोपी )

Bhaad-gaaule Topi (भाद्गाउँले टोपी) also known as blackcap (कालो टोपी) are produced by artisans in the town of Bhaktapur in Nepal. Topi is traditional headgear popular especially in the Newari community and is mandatory for male government employees. The topi has been adopted as part of men’s national dress, as an alternative to the Palpali Dhaka topi. The topi is widely worn in ritual events like weddings, festivals as national pride. Having a pin (khukuri or national flag) attached to the topi adds charm to it.
